Skillman was pleased to participate in the Networking, Innovation and Talent Day of Riga Technical College, held as part of the 18–22 May 2026 agenda hosted by Rīgas Tehniskā koledža – Riga Technical College in Latvia.
The programme brought together students, faculty members, institutional representatives and international guests from across Europe, creating a valuable space to discuss the importance of international cooperation, future-ready skills, innovation, and the role of education in preparing young people for a changing professional environment.
Measuring what matters: skills, values and the future society
As part of the networking event, Dott. Giovanni Crisonà, Founder of Skillman, delivered the keynote speech “Measuring What Matters: Skills, Values and the Future Society.”
His contribution focused on the need to look beyond technical competences alone and to consider the wider role of skills, values, innovation and human potential in shaping the future of work and society. The keynote also highlighted the importance of international collaboration in supporting learners, educators and institutions in identifying new opportunities for growth, development and impact.
A space for international exchange and collaboration
Throughout the event, participants engaged in interactive discussions, presentations and informal exchanges on innovation, talent development and international cooperation. The programme included contributions from international guests and partner organisations, as well as opportunities for networking among participants, college students and staff.
The active participation of students was one of the key highlights of the event. Their engagement, confidence and openness to dialogue reflected the importance of creating international learning environments where young people can develop both professional and transversal skills.
For Skillman, this type of exchange is essential to strengthening connections between education, industry and society, while supporting the development of skills ecosystems that are responsive to current and future challenges.
Strengthening cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding
A significant moment of the programme was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, marking an important step towards strengthening cooperation among the participating institutions and partners.
The MoU represents a shared commitment to further collaboration in areas such as vocational education and training, innovation, international mobility, talent development, and the creation of new opportunities for learners and professionals.
For Skillman, this milestone reinforces the importance of building strong international partnerships that can generate long-term value and support the development of future-ready skills across Europe.
Connecting with the wider VET excellence agenda
The Riga programme also included meetings with Riga Technical College staff and partners, visits to college facilities and laboratories, discussions on interdisciplinary programmes, and activities connected to VET excellence.
These exchanges offered participants the opportunity to explore new forms of cooperation, share experiences, and reflect on how education and training institutions can respond to emerging societal, technological and labour market needs.
Looking ahead
Skillman warmly thanks Rīgas Tehniskā koledža – Riga Technical College and all participating partners for hosting such a meaningful and inspiring international event.
The experience in Riga reaffirmed Skillman’s commitment to promoting international cooperation, innovation in education, and the development of skills and values that can contribute to a more inclusive, sustainable and future-oriented society.
