Fettah Tamince Vocational and Technical Upper Secondary School is located in the west coast of Antalya which is a touristic, agricultural and industrial province in Turkey. The school has three main departments for the students aged between 16-20 as Ship Architecture, Ship Machinery and Ship Management at the same time it provides general vocational and technical education for the first year students aged 15.
There are 65 teachers and 615 students at the school. The school has a conference hall for 250 people, three simulator classes, sports field and an ICT laboratory in the school.
In addition to formal training provided for VET students, the school functions as a lifelong learning centre in marine sector providing adults with certificate training for major branches of marine professions.
The school has gained its positive reputation for its practice-based teaching and training, a cooperative school climate and long lasting relations with different education and training organisations in Turkey and Europe.
A school partnership project plan has been recently agreed on with the Naval Architecture Faculty of the “Dunarea de Jos” University-in Romania and an Erasmus+ KA1 Student Mobility project programme with Liepajas Jurniecibas Koledza in Latvia is still being applied at the school currently. We also take part as local partner of two different KA1 VET Staff mobility projects.
