Konstantinion Research Center of Molecular Medicine & Biotechnology non-profit Foundation (KRC) was founded on 4/12/06 in Thessaloniki, Greece with main goal the promotion of research with the higher scientific, modern techniques, and moral criteria, as well as successful collaborations in national and international level. KRC is an innovative multicenter of creativity, which intends to promote research, educate, and collaborate by organizing seminars and cultural events, and participating in revolutionary research programs. Since 2010 KRC had its own scientific journal, but its publication has been postponed, because of other KRC essential priorities, related to the core strengthening and KRC development in human resources and test-methodologies’ practical priorities (time limitations). One of our next targets is to restart the publication of KRC journal, entitled as Health & Research. Within the context of KRC sustainability, there are several services, products, biological applications and devices that are available to KRC members and health professionals for social, professional and scientific utilization.
The founder of KRC is already member in editorial board and reviewer of 10 international journals and will present soon the course of Natural Regulating Medicine. Some goals or the foundation are the following:
· To collaborate with pharmaceutical or biomedical companies that have as intension the discovery of new drugs or biological supplements locally and internationally.
- To organize and participate in seminar/conferences for the information of the public, and to propose scientific solution for prevention of the human health.
- To collaborate with all the medical specialties of modern medicine in molecular, biological, genetic, bioresonance, and biotechnological level.
- To help and train new researchers, scientists, health practitioners with new scientific techniques for better health welfare.
- To develop new therapeutic and diagnostic protocols for prevention of human chronic, genetic and degenerative diseases.
- To develop research team with new and excellent scientists to work in all the above goals of the Research Center.
- To collaborate with other sciences as chemistry, quantum physics and mechanics, and to explore situations in matter, life in molecular and biotechnological level (nanobiotechnology)

KRC’s future plans in the Sector of Medical Research & Innovation
- Diagnostic evaluation with 25 monoclonal antibodies for cancer patients-an innovation for the planet These 25 monoclonal antibodies can be used in daily practice by clinicians to manage cancer patients in order to extend their life and give them much more quality in their daily routine. These antibodies cover specific pathways for cancer in terms of its metabolism, multiplication, EMT, metastasis, adhesion, and survival, which have been proven the last years and can be essential factors in the daily practice in order to manage the cancer patient with more targeted and individualized therapies. This project is mandatory to achieve international collaborations with high level scientists for the benefit of the cancer patients. Some of these antibodies are the following in all pathways of cancer and already have been tracked and ready to be set in labr: Multiplication: Bcl2, VEGF-A, VEGF-C, VEGF-D, Epithelial Mesenchymal transition: MMP9, WNT, TGF-b Metastasis: NOX2, OCT4, LOX1, Bcl2, STAT3 Adhesion: PDGF-AA, PDGF-AB, PDGF-BB, PAI1. Survival: CD36, CD47, CD44, survivin.
The innovative new diagnostic markers for Alzheimer’s disease-new alternative treatments Our clinical-laboratorial team after several years of searching have found from the bibliography and selected innovative biomarkers that will make the difference in early prognosis of this disease and also to giver therapies with no side effects in order to stop or decrease the progression of this disease. Our center is in the development of the materials and seeking the pricing for the reagents in order to set them in the lab.
The team of KRC has developed many protocols by using flow cytometry, which can be used in many clinical laboratorial projects in many specialties either in the medical field or in general other health practitioners. This team can handle efficiently most molecular techniques and immunological methods for the most advanced diagnostic goals that any partner can set internationally. Most of the center’s colleaques hold PhDs, and Post Docs and can be part of any appropriate teaching team or research team or any challenging project that be lead to new scientific innovation.
KRC Key Staff
Dr. John Toliopoulos (KRC President – Legal Representative, Projects’ Supervisor & Trainer) studied in Biology, majoring in molecular medicine in Chicago USA with full athletic and academic scholarship. Also, he received excellent athletic and academic award by Senator of Illinois USA, Paul Welch. Later, he studied basic sciences in Pecs Medical University, Hungary and he returned in Greece to finish his PhD in Medical Faculty of Ioannina (Dept of Clinical and Exprimental Physiology). During his PhD thesis, he was trained as fellow in reproductive medicine & in homotoxicology (natural Medicine) in Chicago, USA, where he received international award din research by the international association of Homeopathy and homotoxicology in Baden-Baden, Germany, 2005. At the end of 2006 he founded the non-profit SME Konstnatinion Research Center of Molecular Medicine and Biotechnology, where he is the President until today.
Dr. Stergios Oikonomidis (KRC General Secretary, Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator, Principal Researcher) was born in Thessaloniki,Greece and graduated from Medical Faculty of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1993. He was specialized in orthopedic surgery and traumatology from 11.07.1985 until 23.10.1990 at the hospitals of Edessa, Panagia Hospital of Thessaloniki and Hippokration General Hospital of Thessaloniki. Then he worked in the private sector as an orthopedic surgeon in Kozani & Siatista (Northern Greece). Since 1999 he is Director of Orthopedic the Clinic of Edessa (public sector). He was trained upon the surgical management of the spinal disorders in the Clinic of Orthopedics (Papanikolaou Hospital, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). He is a PhD candidate in Dept of Physiology of the Medical Faculty of Ioannina University (Epirus region, GR), specialized in degenerative arthrites variability in correlation to oxidative stress. He has extended his postgraduate studies in ozone therapy (Medical Academy of Nizny Novgorod University, Russia) and in homotoxicology (Reckeweg’s School of homeopathy, Germany). He is master in medical acupuncture and related holistic methods of therapy (ICMART Academy certification). Moreover, he is specialized in surgical techniques of orthopedics reconstruction and traumatology as well as in modification of the progression of arthritic illnesses by using biological therapies and related applications. He has participated in several medical and scientific congresses as a lecturer and moderator and has published many scientific papers. He is the general secretary and co-founder of KRC.
Dr. Eleni Kavazidou (KRC Board Member, Project Manager, Senior Researcher) was born in Aschaffenburg, Germany and speaks English, German, Italian and French, and adequacy in Greek Sign Language, MAKATON language system, Braille writing system; and sufficiently PECS system of communication. She is a graduate of (i) the Dept. of Physical Education and Sports Sciences of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1997 AUTH), (ii) Thessaloniki’s Municipality Professional Dance School (1997) and (iii) Thessaloniki’s Contemporary Conservatoire, Jazz Dept (2005). She has an Msc Degree in Physical Exercise and Health, specialized in Special Physical Education with expertise in exercising during Pregnancy (2002 AUTH) & a PhD Degree in Physical Exercise and Quality of Life, specialized in Dance/movement therapy and Eating Behavior for mentally disorded people with anxiety or depression co-morbidity (2012 AUTH). Since 2007 she attended several training courses in project management in research & education. She was a research fellow of Laboratory of Sports Hygiene and Nutrition of Dept. of Physical Education & Sports of AUTH (2002-2017) & nowadays she is member of the Board of (i) Cultural Organization of Macedonia-Thrace ESAI EN ROI, (ii) Institute of Nutritional Studies & Research, (iii) Panhellenic Association of Teachers of Health Education & (iv) KRC; and member of the Hellenic Society of Biochemistry and Physiology of Exercise. She is an author of several mini-books related to her expertise; author or co-author in several research articles with much of unpublished research work. Since 1999 she has been sporadically member or contact person of several EU or National research & educational programs and Expert in the field of Dance Art with relevant cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Labour. She has several distinctions from GR National Scholarship Institute & TEDx. She has a huge experience as sports teacher or instructor, youth worker, adult trainer and trainer of trainers in typical and physical education in topics relevant to her expertise.
Dimitrios Bougiouklis, Msc (KRC Board Member, Principal Investigator & Trainer) is a biologist, graduate of the relevant Dept. of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has worked between in Coulter Corporation LTD (1989-1998) and Beckmann-Coulter (1998-2002) as application specialist in flow cytometry protocols (in PROFILE, XL, FC500, ELITE instruments). Since 2003 he works as flow cytometry-application-specialist in BD Biosciences (FACSScan, FACSCalibur, FACSCanto, FACSAria instruments). He was trained in LUTTON, England, from a Coulter specialist in 1990, for two weeks, in cytometry (PROFILE II) and fluoresce microscopy. Also, he was trained for one week in EXPO SOFTWARE for XL instrument in Germany. Regarding BD Biosciences, he was trained in Leukemia-Lymphoma protocols on FACSCalibur (oncomarks reagents) and in the new software Diva6 on FACSCanto II in Belgium. He is a member of the Hellenic Society of Flow Cytometry and also a member of the European Society of the Cytometry Cell Analysis (ESCCA). Since 2007 he is the Princical Investigator of KRC, setting the new protocols based on flow cytometry.
Dr. Charalampos Stavridis- Head of Clinical Team Dr. Stavridis (gastroenterologist-internal medicine specialist) with great clinical experience is dealing widely in the clinical laboratorial medicine with specific emphasis in Molecular level. After several years of studies, his extra goals include prognosis, diagnosis and therapies in autoimmune diseases and mainly cancer. His huge experience and his high morale and deontology is a major reason for the new doctors to be imitated and be guided in the new era of modern medicine. Dr. Stavridis is one of the best clinicians in Greece who is the leader of the clinical team of Konstantinion Research Center.
Konstantina Gkoutzamani (KRC Accountant Manager) is a graduate of accounting in Alexander Educational Technical Institute of Thessaloniki. She is continually working in a trading paper company as a major accountant successfully the last 24 years in Thessaloniki. Also, she is the Principal Accountant in Konstantinion Research Center since 2008, and organized many of the center’s conferences and special events successfully. She is also expert in adult training as a certified tutor in adult’s education, with a significant experience in private centers of education for five years as a trainer of advanced accounting in adults.
