Invitation to Skillman International Forum 2024

The 10th edition of the Skillman International Forum will take place on 11-12 December 2024 in Montecatini Terme, Italy. This event will explore the future of education, vocational training, employment, and the transformative shifts shaping lifelong learning and society.

Organised by the Skillman.eu network, spanning 95 countries, the Forum is managed in collaboration with the European Training Foundation and other key partners. It incorporates a co-creative design process aimed at supporting the Skillman.eu initiative to establish a new International Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs.eu) in Tuscany. Known as the Skillman Villa, this visionary project seeks to transform the historic Fattoria Medicea of Monsummano Terme into a hub that integrates vocational education with cutting-edge technological and sustainable innovations.

Located near Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci, the Centre draws inspiration from the Renaissance. CoVEs.eu seeks to ignite a modern renaissance in vocational education, supported by research from the Horizon Europe project Tracks4Crafts. Building on Skillman.eu principles, the Skillman Villa will close skills gaps by introducing innovative curricula and fostering development in technology, sustainability, and craftsmanship. It will revitalise the craft sector, support businesses, attract learners, train managers, and promote innovation in TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training).

The Forum provides an opportunity to gather best practices from Skillman’s members to envision a creative hub advancing projects in contemporary art, robotics, AI, environmental regeneration, and sustainable production. It will host events that bridge Tuscany's rich traditions with the demands of modern society, fostering startups, social enterprises, and innovative craftsmanship.

The Municipality of Monsummano Terme, hosting the Skillman Villa, aims to address local skill needs, integrate innovative elements, and strengthen the regional economy. Participants at the Skillman International Forum 2024 will explore and co-design solutions to implement a dynamic training ecosystem that engages learners and professionals, fosters collaborations with industry, and enhances the impact of vocational education on society.

The 2024 Forum offers amazing opportunities for networking and collaboration, with active participation in roundtables and workshops on topics such as mobility for skills, incubators, creative industries, and the university's role in territorial innovation. Initiatives like Escape2EU and EQAVET innovation services will provide interactive and engaging experiences.

Over 250 participants are already registered, and numerous organisations are contributing their support. Join us by registering online or onsite to share your knowledge and contribute to building a better society.
