I am honoured to share with you the official letter of invitation to Riga for SIF 2023, which this year we had the privilege of co-signing with the Latvian Minister of Education.

The invitation letter, which provides evidence of the global recognition garnered by the work done by delegates during past annual Skillman International Forums, officially launches the theme for SIF 2023: "The Planet of Skills: Renewed Perspective on Networking Potential." Our vision for the future of learning and skills encompasses various principles that are close to our hearts, including the recognition of the value of global networking for collaboration and knowledge exchange, as well as emerging trends in skills development, particularly in relation to green and digital transitions. The letter also emphasizes the vital role of microcredentials in meeting evolving skills demands while promoting sustainability, ethics, and social inclusion in lifelong learning.
The SIF 2023 programme will offer incredible learning opportunities for all participants, and I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Education staff and all our Latvian partners for their outstanding efforts in creating such an engaging programme. The Forum of 2023 will pay particular attention to the potential of global networking as a resource for co-creating our common knowledge and will conclude producing the 2023 Riga Declaration.
It aims at addressing the emerging megatrends for a future society in which any qualification has a role, and where microcredentials may have a crucial role in response to the new emerging skills demands. The local responses to the global trends will be considered by an additional emphasis on green and digital transition and innovative approaches from various perspectives, and with the needs of active citizenship in mind.
