INVITATION TO THE SKILLMAN WEBINAR ON TEACHERS TRAINING NEEDS ANALYSIS

The Skillman Secretariat is honoured to invite you to the Skillman Webinar on “Teachers Training Needs Analysis (TNA)“, on February 10th, 10:00/11:30 CET, organized in collaboration with the European Training Foundation.The event will focus on understanding what the teachers’ needs are at school and individual level. Furthermore, keynote speakers are going to highlight the importance of upskilling staff and experts and adopting new pedagogic approaches and methodologies, especially in the light of the crucial role TVET has in modern societies and the challenges in terms of digital, green and ethical skills. Examples from two Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) from Spain and Sweden will be presented.– What are the formal responsibilities of a Center of Vocational Excellence with respect to CPD in the context of regional/national CPD system?– What methods do they use to assess the needs of individual teachers, trainers or manager?– What can be done in a situation where a training institute is not yet autonomous and how to manage the transition to autonomy?– How do teachers within the school provide support for one another, for example, through mentoring, observation, collaborating to develop lessons or courses, sharing know-how?– How do they think of improving the quality or quantity of professional development in the future?These and other questions will be addressed during the webinar.First CoVE example: Swedenpresented by Klas Tallvid, coordinator of the Halsingland Education Association (HEA). The latter is a public, regional, non-commercial collaboration between three municipalities in the county of Hälsingland (Bollnäs, Söderhamn, Nordanstig). In the HEA the municipalities cooperate around education and training on various levels from secondary level for youth, adult education, post-secondary VET and higher education. The municipalities within HEA organize education and vocational training for about 5000 students per year. Second CoVE example: Cataluña, Spainpresented by Narcis Bosch, director of the General Council of Chambers of Commerce of Catalonia, which joins Knowledge, Territory and Innovation Platform (CTI). In this way, it becomes the 23rd organization among business associations and companies, universities and public institutions in Catalonia that form the CTI Platform, a strategic project to strengthen the economic and social development of Catalonia. The CTI platform promotes stable interaction and cooperation between universities, business and government of Catalonia to work together for social progress, economic competitiveness and cultural vitality. The Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP), Fomento del Trabajo Nacional and PIMEC promote the Platform with the collaboration of “la Caixa”. It also has the support of the Generalitat of Catalonia and a group of companies based in Catalonia.
