Giovanni Crisonà, founder of Skillman, was officiallly invited to participate and give a presentation at the International Conference on “Skills Readiness for Achieving SDG & Adopting IR 4.0”. The event was held on February 2-4, 2020 at the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The event was jointly organized by IDEB and the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) in Manila, Philippines, and in association with the Ministry of Education (MoE)-Government of Bangladesh, Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), and Bangladesh Technical Education Board as co-partners.
The conference tackled issues on emerging technologies and industries, types of skills needed to succeed in a fast-changing world, the role of technopreneurship, private and public sector investment in the industry and in TVET, and how to plan TVET strategies for future changes in skills and work.
The leader of Skillman took part as chairman in the seminar “The Challenges and Opportunities for Adopting IR 4.0“, where he moderated a panel discussion about emerging technology breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, automation and robotics. The discussion also pointed out changes in skill requirements and the new organization work schemes on businesses and industries, job quality and social inclusion. In this context, TVET is widely recognized as a vital driving force for socio-economic growth and technical development of nations.
