EEF is the largest voice backing UK manufacturers and for 120 years has been helping to protect, grow and upskill the sector. Within the region Charlotte and colleagues engage in various activities to ensure manufacturers in the region have an optimum business environment to operate in such as; West Midlands Innovation Alliance, The WMG Academy for Young Engineers, Midlands Engine Skills Group, Midlands Engine Business Forum and the West Midlands Mayor’s Business Advisory Group to name but a few.
It’s so very apparent that the world is moving at a considerable pace, as manufacturers get to grips with industry 4.0 the biggest barrier will be access to skills. By addressing the skills required to automate and utilise robotics, not only will we establish better paid, higher quality jobs for future generations, but we will stand robust on the global platform. Charlotte has just been announced in the Birmingham Post Power 250 for her contribution to influencing manufacturing and to taking forward the agenda on robotics and up-skilling.
