SKILLMAN’S AMBASSADOR JO LOPES (JAGUAR LAND ROVER) HAS BEEN INTERVIEWED

José joined what became Jaguar Land Rover as a graduate in 1989. He has worked within Product Engineering in different Engineering roles, on both Land Rover and Jaguar projects. Taking responsibility for development and nurturing of engineering skills and competencies within the company, his responsibility extends to engineering graduates and apprentices, so they have the necessary skills to support future growth. He chairs skills for the UK Automotive Council, working across the automotive sector with local and national Government to deliver the needs for sustainable growth. This work is supported by his role as a non-executive director of industrial skills organisation SEMTA. He also is the chairman of the Human Capital work-stream for the EU Commission GEAR 2030 project to boost automotive competitiveness.
